We’ve got a packed MLB slate today with 15 games on the docket, and plenty of betting opportunities. Whether you’re looking for value in underdog plays or banking on some top-tier matchups, I’ve broken down the games and key insights for today’s best bets.

Chicago Cubs vs. Philadelphia Phillies
The Cubs have been eliminated from playoff contention and are sending out Justin Steele, who has been solid this year with a 3.03 ERA. However, this game doesn’t mean much to the Cubs. The Phillies, on the other hand, are rolling into the playoffs and have been excellent at home (52-25). They have yet to announce their starter, but their bullpen has been sharp down the stretch. The Phillies are also finding their rhythm offensively, making them a good value at home as slight underdogs.
Cincinnati Reds vs. Cleveland Guardians
The Guardians have nothing left to play for, while the Reds, under a new manager, will look to finish strong. Jacob Junis has been pitching well, but his team has not given him run support. However, with the Guardians in cruise control mode and not much to gain here, the Reds at +142 represent solid underdog value. Cleveland’s offense has been inconsistent lately, and the Reds could capitalize on this opportunity.
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Tobias Myers has had success against the Pirates, but Milwaukee will likely be cautious with his pitch count as they gear up for the postseason. The Brewers bullpen, second-best in the league, should handle the rest. Pittsburgh’s bats have been cold, and with Bailey Falter throwing well for the Pirates recently, I like the under in this game.
Kansas City Royals vs. Washington Nationals
Cole Ragans has been solid for the Royals, and with Kansas City in must-win territory for their wildcard hopes, they should handle the struggling Nationals. Washington’s Mitchell Parker has had back-to-back rough starts, and their bullpen is shaky. The Royals should win comfortably by two or more runs, making the -1.5 line with plus odds appealing.
New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles
Clark Schmidt has been solid for the Yankees, but Baltimore’s offense is due for a breakout, even though they’ve cooled off down the stretch. The Yankees’ offense has been clicking, and Baltimore’s bullpen has been vulnerable. Expect runs on both sides in this one, pushing the total over the 8.5 mark.
