Milwaukee Bucks vs Boston Celtics Betting Picks, Odds, & Predictions April 7th

Two of the NBAs elite face off tonight, April 7th, at 7:30PM ET in the first of two nationally televised NBA games on TNT. This matchup features the defending NBA champions in the Milwaukee Bucks, who are hosting the streaking Boston Celtics.

This game also has importance when it comes to seeding in the Eastern Conference as well. As of right now, the Celtics have a half game lead on the Bucks for the 2nd seed in the East. The Bucks, meanwhile, are currently tied with the Sixers for the 3rd/4th seed.

At the time of this writing, the Bucks are favored by 5.5 points, with the over/under set at 227.5.

The key to handicapping this game, and my guess as to why the Bucks are favored by as much as they are, is that the Celtics are currently on the second half of a back-to-back.

Nobody is listed out as of now, but Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Al Horford are all listed as questionable. Those 3 all played last night, in a blowout of the Bulls, so the guess here is that at least one, and maybe all 3, are going to sit tonight.

On the Bucks side, Giannis is currently listed as probable and the only player unlikely to play for the Bucks is Grayson Allen.

This is the unfortunate reality when you get to the doldrums of the regular season. Load management, and key players resting down the stretch.

If both of these teams were fully healthy, I would love the Celtics covering 5.5 points. Since the new year started, the Celtics have the best net rating in the entire NBA, even over the Suns.

On the season as a whole they are up to 2nd in net rating, with the best defense in the NBA- and by a decent margin too.

Meanwhile, within the past week the Bucks have beaten the Sixers in Philly, and the Nets in Brooklyn. Now, they are at home and possibly facing a depleted Celtics team on a back-to-back.

That Giannis fellow is on fire as of late, too. He is averaging just under 30 points per game on the season, and is coming off 40+ point performances in both the Sixers and Nets games mentioned earlier.

When looking to bet this game, I decided to ride with the Bucks in this spot. They are the home team, and the risk that the Celtics are going to rest key players makes the Bucks the better play here.

I was able to get them at -5.5 on DraftKings at -110 odds.

This is a Positive Expected Value play, too. The OddsJam Perfect Line prices this market at -121, so getting the Bucks -5.5 at -110 represents some value.

I also love this because the OddsJam Line prices this spread to be at -6.5, so we are also beating the closing line in that regard as well.
