Los Angeles Clippers vs Philadelphia 76ers Betting Picks, Odds, & Predictions March 25th

In the last of an NBA TV double header tonight, Friday March 25th, the Los Angeles Clippers are hosting the Philadelphia 76ers. Doc Rivers returns to LA!

Another game in which injuries have taken a toll on the excitement level. The Sixers are as exciting as ever adding James Harden to the roster, but the Clippers are without two megastars Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

With these injuries in mind, the visiting Sixers are 5.5 point favorites while the over/under sits at 221.5.

Starting with the Sixers – this game has disappointment written all over it. The Sixers played the Lakers two nights ago, and as 7.5 point favorites they blew a double digit lead and came close to losing the game in the end. They did come away with the victory, but it left the Sixers with a sour tase in their mouth because of their play.

In terms of talent, this game shouldn’t be close. The Clippers are missing their aforementioned two best players, while the Sixers should be fully healthy. They survived a scare with James Harden in that Lakers game, but he goes into tonights game without any injury designation.

So, with MVP favorite Joel Embiid, James Harden, upcoming superstar Tyrese Maxey, and, begrudgingly mentioned, Tobias Harris, the Sixers will have the 4 best players in this game. The problem with the Sixers, though, is they rarely play a full game at their potential.

We saw that potential when Harden first joined the team, but they have been hit or miss since. Luckily, the inconsistent play hasn’t led to losses – they are 11-4 in their last 15, but seemingly every game they either blow a double digit lead or start the game down by double digits.

Looking at the Clippers side of the ball, the biggest advantage they will have in this game is coaching. Ty Lue has done a heckuva job coaching this team considering everything they have gone through. They won’t wow anybody with talent, but they are well-coached, play hard, and won’t give away games.

This is in contrast with the Doc Rivers coached Sixers who seemingly take naps during the game. The Clippers will need someone in the likes of Terance Mann or Reggie Jackson to have a hot shooting night to keep it close, but I love getting the Clippers to cover here.

I do think the Sixers still win outright, but I am much more confident in a Clippers cover.

While I like the Clippers covering in this game, my absolute favorite play in this game is taking the game total to go under. Again, the OddsJam line prices this total at 221.5, but using OddsJam I was able to lock this in at 222.5 on BetRivers Sportsbook.

The guess here is that the Sixers sleepwalk through another late night game in LA, while the Clippers also play hard defense. These two teams played earlier this year, a game in which the Sixers blew a 24 point lead in a Clippers victory 102-101. I’m not quite predicting that level of a blown lead, but a final score in the low 100’s wouldn’t surprise me.
