For the late NBA TNT game, we have the Golden State Warriors hosting the Los Angeles Lakers. This game is being played on Thursday, April 7th at 10:00PM ET.

Barf. For what seems like the millionth time in the past two weeks, we have yet another Lakers game nationally televised.

You know they are a bad, bad team when the Warriors without Steph Curry are favored by 12.5 points over them. The game total is set at 223 as well.

When this game was scheduled the NBA probably had dreams of these two teams fighting for a top seed in the Western Conference. Instead, the Lakers are the biggest laughing stock in the NBA in a long time, and the Warriors have been struggling with Steph out.

The Lakers are 2-8 in their last 10, and if you zoom back farther it’s even worse. They have the 4th worst record in the entire NBA since February 1st, going 7-21 in that stretch.

Not only are they bad, but they are also old with little hope for the future depending on how they are able to get out from under the Russell Westbrook contract.

It isn’t just injuries, too. LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis played together have played 21 games together and have a negative point differential in those minutes.

The Warriors, unfortunately, keep on struggling with Steph out of the lineup. He has now missed 10 games, including the game he was injured in, and the Warriors have gone 3-7 in this stretch.

It doesn’t take the smartest NBA analyst to see that they are a completely different team without him and the gravity he provides. So, I can’t in good conscious bet the Warriors to cover a spread as high as 13 points.

With that said, I’d rather go to the dentist than bet on the Lakers to cover anything.

So, this bet is currently beating the closing line and is a Positive Expected Value bet. 221.5 isn’t that high of a total, and with the Lakers essentially given up on the season and the Warriors limping to the finish line until Steph comes back, I could see both teams giving little effort on defense.
