Best Bets for Semifinals of WNBA Playoffs: 2 Bets for Sky-Sun & Aces-Storm: Two Tied Series Continue to do Battle

With both series tied up at 1 game a piece, we’re headed into Game 3 of the WNBA Semifinals. We went 1-1 for Game 2, and we were just a hair away from going 2-0; unfortunately, Aces -5.5 didn’t hit as they won 78-73. We’ll be aiming to go 2-0 however for Game 3 – you can find all of the odds we mention here on OddsJam.com.

Chicago Sky vs. Connecticut Sun Pick: Sky Moneyline | -105 at Caesers

Coming off of their Game 2 win on their home court, the Chicago Sky have tied this series up heading to Connecticut. While the Connecticut Sun were able to steal Game 1 and prevent the Sky from having a 2-0 lead on their home court, the Sky have, in my estimation, shown themselves to be the superior team thus far in this series and over the course of the season.

With a 5-1 record so far this year (through the regular season and playoffs), the Sky are clearly in the driver seat and while the Sun home court advantage may turn this into a close one, I do expect the Sky to come away with the victory.

We’re not taking the spread on this one, as this game is essentially a pick-em and the odds are reflective of that. You’re going to find roughly the same value on the spread that you will on the moneyline, unless you look for an inflated line that has the Sky running away with it.

As I do think this will likely come down to, at most, two possessions, I’m going with the moneyline to ensure that the end result, rather than the final score, is the key factor. We’re taking the Chicago Sky moneyline, available for -105 at Caesars.

Las Vegas Aces vs. Seattle Storm Pick: Aces -3 | +135 at BetRivers

Much like in the earlier game on Sunday between the Sky and Sun, Game 3 between the Las Vegas Aces and the Seattle Storm is essentially a pick ‘em; the WNBA playoff semifinals have been highly competitive, and all four teams are showing exactly why and how they stood head and shoulders above the rest of the league throughout much of the season. 

I’ve been fairly bullish on the Aces all year, and that will remain the case in this series and in Game 3. While they’ll be headed to the Storm’s court for the first time, I feel strongly that their momentum from Game 2 and their incredibly high-powered offense is going to carry them to victory.

While it’s not dissimilar to how I feel about the Sky/Sun match-up, I do think the Aces won’t keep it as close as the early game of the day may be, and so I’ll be looking at some alternate spread options for this one. As mentioned above, the main line essentially has this as a pick ‘em, so we’re going to juice that line a bit for some more favorable odds.
