Sharp Bets for WNBA Finals Aces vs. Suns Predictions: Can Aces Clinch Title in Game 3 or Will Sun Hold on?

Going into Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, the Las Vegas Aces have put themselves only one game away from a title, after taking a 2-0 series lead on their home court. The big question: Can the Connecticut Sun battle back on their home court, or is this series as good as done?

While Game 1 of the series between Las Vegas and Connecticut was a back-and-forth affair in which either team could have pulled off the victory heading into the closing moments, Game 2 was one firmly controlled by the Aces throughout.

The Sun didn’t lead at the end of any quarter, and even in their best quarters (two and four), the Aces matched their points scored at 22 and 17, respectively. As the series heads to Connecticut, we have to ask ourselves if the 0-2 hole that the Sun have found themselves in is too deep of one to battle back out of, or if they’ll be able to steal two games on their home court to even up this series.

Normally, we’d look at the home/away splits for each team to see just how dominant both teams have been on their own courts — but both the Aces and the Sun have been dominant this year, regardless of game location.

Both teams have a 13-5 home record and while the Aces maintained that 13-5 record when playing away, the Sun went an only very slightly worse 12-6 when playing away. And while the Aces have been utterly dominant in the postseason, the Sun have been only a bit less so, needing more games to eliminate similar opposition.

Even with that said, home-court advantage is very real, particularly in the playoffs. And while I’m not confident that the Sun will be able to battle back over the next two games to force a Game 5 in Las Vegas, I am confident that they won’t be swept in the WNBA.

The Sun win one on their home court before succumbing to the offensive brilliance that the Aces display night in and night out. With that in mind, I’ll be taking the Connecticut Sun moneyline. I locked this in for -115 at Caesars, but be sure to shop for the best line above!
