Serie A Preseason Futures Picks 2022-2023: Top Picks & Predictions Ahead of Serie A Season, Serie A Winner, Top 4, Relegation Bets

The 2022-23 Serie A season is nearly upon us. Here are the storylines OddsJam’s soccer expert @FootyChancellor is eyeing this season, as well as the futures bets he’s locking in.

Serie A Championship Odds 2022-2023

The upcoming Serie A (Italian League) is shaping up to be one of the most interesting leagues in the world. After a nine-year run of titles by Juventus, Inter and AC Milan have won the past two seasons. That means this season is wide open when it comes to who will win the title.

Juventus have reloaded adding Di Maria (PSG), Paul Pogba (Man United) and Gleison Bremer (Torino) to try and get back to the top of the table. I love the moves this squad has made to turn things around.

They are still in the Champions League so last season was not a total loss, but more moves need to be made to compete with Inter and AC Milan after finishing 16 points behind them.

Inter has also added some great pieces to make a run at the league title. Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) finally gets what he wants and returns to the team that saw him score 47 goals in two seasons there. Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Roma) signed as a free agent adds veteran leadership after playing for some big clubs throughout his career.

That brings us to the champs, AC Milan. Milan clinched the title on the last day of the season by 2 points over Inter and wants to continue that success. They added super sub striker Divock Origi (Liverpool) and return many key pieces. Milan plays an incredible team game and do not rely on 1- or 2-goal scorers.

Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud led the team to the title with 11 goals each, which is incredible to think because no one from AC Milan finished in the top 15 goal scorers in the 2021-22 season.  

Serie A Futures Bets to Lock in Now

The Safe Pick: Napoli Top 4 Finish | +120 at BetMGM

Outside the big three, it looks like the race for fourth should also be interesting. Fiorentina and Roma look ready to battle it out with Napoli for the final champions league spot.

Napoli are a high-scoring squad that finished 15 points clear of fifth-place Lazio in 2021 so I love this play even more at plus money. The only thing I am worried about with this play is Jose Mourinho (Roma) — never count a Mourinho squad out. 

The Value Pick: Romelu Lukaku Top Goal Scorer | +333 at BetMGM

Romelu Lukaku is getting a nice value here on a very good Inter Milan squad. Inter are going to be battling for the league title all season and I fully expect Lukaku to return to goal-scoring form in a less defensive-minded league.

Lukaku also will take over as the full-time PK taker — I am expecting 22-25 goals this season.

The Longshot: Monza to be Relegated | +400 at BetMGM

Monza are entering their very first season in Serie A after winning the Serie B playoffs. They have made no major moves to improve their squad this offseason, so they seem happy with the players they have in place.

I love the value of this play with Monza having no Serie A history and the likelihood they’ll be overwhelmed with the talent jump. 

2022-23 Serie A Champion Prediction: Inter Milan | +175 at BetMGM

There’s just way too much talent on paper. Yes, I love the moves Juventus have made and continue to make, but Inter could run away with it all with Lukaku returning.

This Inter squad is stacked with Lautaro Martinez, Edin Dzeko, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and more. Look for this team as a sleeper to make a deep run in the Champions League as well.
