EPL Matchday 14 Picks & Predictions

Bournemouth vs. Tottenham Pick: Tottenham Moneyline | -148 on BetRivers

Saturday, October 29 | 10:00 a.m. ET

Well, Tottenham’s title aspirations have sure taken a turn for the worst over the last few weeks. Once the cream of the crop, they’ve quickly gone from legitimate title threat to hanging on to a Top 4 spot.

Bournemouth welcome the Spurs to Vitality Stadium, where they themselves will look to end a two game losing streak. Currently sitting 14th in the table, they enter this fixture on the back of a 2-0 defeat on the road to West Ham, having now gone goalless in over 180 minutes of action.

There is some real concern about the lack of a threat Bournemouth pose going forward, as their recent goal drought is not a random occurrence. They’ve failed to score in five of their last 10 competitive fixtures. While their opponent has not been a feared opponent in recent weeks, the idea of Harry Kane sprinting towards your back four should surely put pressure on the forwards of Bournemouth to get on the goal sheet.

Having won only two of their six home matches to date in the Premier League, they will have their hands full and it’s hard to envision such an improvement in form this quickly.

The Spurs need to right the ship and they need to do it quickly. Today provides the perfect opportunity to do that. We’ve covered the struggles Bournemouth have had both in the win/loss column as well as their brutal stretch in front of their opponents goal.

Harry Kane and company will not need much room to make their chances count and they certainly need to do just that to get the Spurs thinking about a league title again.  Tottenham have scored in 11 of their 12 league fixtures – their only blank coming in a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford to Manchester United. Goals should not be an issue for this Spurs side up against a squad who have conceded in eight of their last 10 competitive matches.

All things considered, with the Spurs coming off a devastating 1-1 draw to Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League mid-week, we expect them to take advantage of a poor Bournemouth back line who have had their struggles in all areas of the field, as earlier pointed out in the final third. Tottenham, while expected to score more than once, may not need to. Spurs Moneyline for the win.

Fulham vs. Everton Pick: Over 2.5 | -118 on BetRivers

Saturday, October 29 | 12:30 p.m. ET

Fulham have been quite the impressive bunch early on this campaign. Sitting in seventh in the Premier League table, a mere three points behind Chelsea for a spot in European Soccer next season, they welcome Everton to the famous Craven Cottage in London.

Coming off back-to-back wins over Aston Villa (3-0) and Leeds (3-2), Fulham will look to continue to ride their momentum and the magic of Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has nine goals to his name already.

Scoring at least one goal in nine of the last 10 games, Fulham will be sure to get on the scoresheet yet again with no team seemingly capable of stopping what is becoming one of the more exciting teams to watch. In front of the Fulham faithful is where we really see this team kick it up a gear – scoring two goals or more in five of their six home matches to date.

Everton have been a hard team to get a read on. Currently sitting 12th in the table with 13 points, we have seen hot and cold streaks play with the emotions of this club. Having collected points in five straight matches between August 27th – October 1st, Everton then proceeded to lose the next three outright – albeit to top clubs (Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle).

While Everton matches have not been high scoring, they have proven capable of getting on the scoresheet scoring in seven of their 10 matches and will likely become eight of the last 11 after today.

It’s hard to imagine Fulham leaving this game with nothing to their name in the way of points and/or goals. We’re riding this in form Fulham team to continue to dominate in the final third and put up numbers beneficial to our wager. The plus side for us? While scoring in bunches, Fulham are no strangers to conceding and with Everton showing an ability to produce on their own, we see this match flying Over 2.5 total goals scored.
