Premier League Matchday 2 Odds, Picks and Predictions: Two Bets Stand Out

Aston Villa vs. Everton kicks off Matchday 2 of 38 in the English Premier League. This match is set for 7:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, August 13. There are six other Premier League matches on Saturday, two on Sunday, and one on Monday.

After looking through the betting odds, I’ve zoned in one two sharp bets for Matchday 2. I’ll be sharing my best bets, picks and predictions in this preview. Both of my sharp soccer betting picks are from OddsJam.

The first match I have a bet on is Man City vs. Bournemouth. Man City is 1-0-0 on the season. They beat West Ham 2-0 on Sunday, August 7. Star player Erling Haaland had two goals for Man City in this match.

Bournemouth is also 1-0-0 in the 2022/2023 Premier League season. They beat Aston Villa 2-0 on Saturday, August 6, boosted by a goal by Jefferson Lerma in the second minute of the match.

Man City will look to handle business once again against Bournemouth. Unsurprisingly, they’re heavy favorites in betting markets. The best moneyline price on Manchester City is -1300 on FanDuel sportsbook. They’re an implied 90% chance to win this match against Bournemouth according to betting markets.

As seen below, the best moneyline price is +4000 odds. This price is offered on a myriad of online bookmakers, including Caesars sportsbook. The best price on a Draw is +1400 odds.

I locked in this Premier League bet for a little over 1 unit ($600 total). I love the value in this play and think Manchester City will be able to cruise past Bournemouth. My prediction is that Man City wins this match 3-0.

Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace Picks and Predictions

Monday, August 15 at 3 p.m. ET

My next bet for Matchday 2 is in Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace. Similar to Manchester City, Liverpool is a heavy favorite in the betting markets.

As seen on OddsJam, Liverpool is best offered at -455 odds on BetRivers sportsbook. BetRivers is actually offering the best lines on every wager, so kudos to BetRivers for having soccer odds with low vig!

BetRivers sportsbook is offering +600 odds on the Draw and +1500 odds on Crystal Palace moneyline.

I think that Crystal Palace will be able to keep this match on Monday competitive, and my prediction is that Liverpool will win 2-1.
