Athletic Bilbao are looking to make a run at a Champions League spot this year and they are right in the hunt. They currently sit fourth on the La Liga table and 3 points here will go a long way early in the season.

Bilbao’s current form is right up there with Barcelona and Madrid, grabbing 12 points in their last five matches. Almeria have struggled out of the gate only collecting 4 points in their first five matches with just 3 goals on the year.

Bilbao are starting to heat up with 7 goals in the past two La liga matches so it’s possible they might cover this themselves.

While they only have one win in their previous four matches, they have at least scored some goals. Elche sit at the bottom of the table and have 0 goals scored on the road this year and only 2 total. I have no reason to believe that trend ends against Rayo, so this is a strong moneyline play for me here.
