We’re taking some chances on this week’s La Liga slate. Girona need some points in the worst way as they hold on to the final Europa spot in La Liga. They have a one-point lead over three other teams that would love to take it away from them.
Villarreal have, at the very least, a Europa spot and have an outside chance at Champions League if things all fall into place. Girona are a very good home side, with 10 wins and three draws in 17 home matches this year.
Girona have won their past four home matches and hope to make in five to move up the table. The bad news is that Villarreal are also one of the better road teams but are winless in their last two. I am locking in the home side that needs big win at home.

This is a classic hangover match. Barcelona clinched the league title last week, so the season is basically over for them. Win, lose or draw, this means absolutely nothing to Barcelona except a party in front of the fans.
For Real Sociedad, this is all business. Sociedad sit in fourth place and are holding onto the last Champions League spot over Villarreal. Sociedad have had some big wins over Real Madrid and Betis in the past five matches to get them to this point and I do not see them wasting it.

This is the riskiest of the plays on the board today. Sevilla are coming off a huge win against Juventus and are heading to the Europa finals. Sevilla are going to have some tired legs but this is another very important matchup for them.
If all the chips fall into place, Sevilla can jump from 10th place to 7th and be right back in the fold with a win. Sevilla have had a remarkable turnaround and were facing relegation battle most of the season.
Sevilla have only lost one of the last 12 matches so they have climbed up the table quickly and I am riding with the hot team.
