Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League Predictions & Picks, Including Ajax vs. Rangers, Inter vs. Bayern for Sept. 7

We’re heading into Day 2 of Champions League action and another big slate of games is on the cards. The group of death is in full swing and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. Some matchups tomorrow feel like a finals matchup and we are only in Round 1, let’s jump into it

Wednesday Champions League Predictions & Picks

Club Brugge vs. Bayer Leverkusen Pick: Over 3 | -130 at DraftKings

Wednesday, Sept. 7 | 3 p.m. ET

Club Brugge have the ability to score goals in bunches and Leverkusen has shown the ability to let them in to start the season. The once-proud defensive club has allowed 9 goals in the past five matches in the German Bundesliga.

On the other side, Club Brugge — who have run through the Belgium league for years — have lite up the scoreboard with 13 goals in their past five matches. I am not ready to call for the upset yet but this is the tale of two teams headed in opposite directions.

Leverkusen have all the talent in the world on paper and should bag at least 1 — I am feeling a push at worst here

Ajax vs. Rangers Pick: Over 3 | -125 at DraftKings

Ajax are a remarkable story. Their squad was gutted in the transfer window, sending out more than half their starters to teams around the world. How did they respond with such hardship? Only by winning every match to start the season by a 16:3 goal difference.

It seems like no matter what you put in front of this team, they find a way to score goals and get the win. The Europa runners-up Rangers have to find their identity after getting crushed on the road against their rival Celtic 4-0.

The last three Rangers matches have seen a combined 12 goals so again feel like this is a push at worst given the Rangers’ ability to score. 

Inter vs. Bayern Pick: Bayern Moneyline | -115 at DraftKings

Wednesday, Sept. 7 | 3 p.m. ET

This is a 100% homer pick. I love Bayern but this to me seems like a complete mismatch with Romelu Lukaku out with an injury. Bayern are coming off two hard-luck draws against Monchengladbach and Union Berlin that they should have won easily.

I do not think they just sit back, they want to regain the Bayern form that the world knows — all gas and no brake. Inter have also had a rough time the past few matches, only collecting 3 points in the last three matches. Their defense has looked terrible against the attack of AC Milan and Lazio so it makes me love Bayern even more today.
