Koln had the surprise stunner last matchday, knocking off Dortmund at home in a 3-2 victory. It was a very impressive win that no doubt ended a lot of parlays.

Frankfurt were able to knock off league-leaders Union Berlin even after going down a man. Matchday 8 was wildly unpredictable so let’s see what we got for Matchday 9. 

Bundesliga Matchday 9 Picks & Predictions

Bayern vs. Dortmund Pick: Bayern -1 | +105 at DraftKings

Saturday, Oct. 8 | 12:30 p.m. ET

The biggest matchup in the football world this weekend is Bayern at Dortmund. This “rivalry” has been anything but one — Bayern have won eight straight head-to-head matchups and are on a mission to reclaim the top spot on the Bundesliga table.

Bayern are currently 2 points back of Union Berlin, but are a whooping -1100 to claim the title again.

Dortmund are coming off a dominating performance against Sevilla in the Champions League. Dortmund are currently now 5 points clear of Sevilla, but the quick turnaround against Bayern does them no favors.

Bayern are also coming off a Champions League match but were able to sub off a lot of starters with having the match wrapped up. Currently, Thomas Muller’s and Joshua Kimmich’s statuses are still unknown while they recover from cover but my team rolls here … Mia San Mia.

Leverkusen vs. Schalke Pick: Over 3 | -130 at DraftKings

I love Schalke overs like they were my children. Leverkusen need to take out some built-up aggression on someone and Schalke might get the full force of it.

Leverkusen have been held scoreless in their last two matchups against Bayern and Porto. While Leverkusen’s failures this season are very surprising considering they are a Champions League club, they still have time to get it back on track.

Schalke are struggling in almost every place on the field. They have only managed 6 points in their first eight matches with no signs of improvement. This has a feeling of a Leverkusen whitewash but would be happy to see Schalke bag a few as well. 

Monchengladbach vs. Koln Pick: Over 2.75 | -135 at DraftKings

Sunday, Oct. 9 | 9:30 a.m. ET

This is a matchup is between two teams firing on all cylinders. When these two teams meet up, it is anything but boring. The last five head-to-head matchups have all gone for 3+ goals with Koln winning three of the five.

Koln loves to score on the road, getting at least 1 in every matchup this season. Monchengladbach are the wild card in this matchup — you never know what team is going to show up. It could be the defensive force that lead Gladbach to clean sheet wins in two of the last three or the world beaters that smoked Bayern a few weeks ago.

Either way, I expect a lot of goals.
