Week 1 Sportsbook and DFS Site Promo Guide

Welcome to one of our favorite weeks of the year! Week 1 of the NFL is so exciting as a fan but especially a bettor, mostly because of all the promotions the sportsbooks and DFS sites are running.

For sportsbooks, promos are just a marketing cost – it’s how they get new people to sign up. FanDuel is competing with DraftKings, PrizePicks, etc. for new customers, so they all end up offering lucrative promos. That means opportunity for US as sharp, profitable sports bettors.

In this guide, I’ll break down promos from all over the market. I’ll also add to this article as I find more throughout the week. I am currently in Arizona, so the promos may vary slightly by state depending on where you are, but for the most part should be similar.

Let’s get into it, starting with Underdog Fantasy:

Underdog Fantasy: Patrick Mahomes Free Passing Yards Prop

Underdog Fantasy has been generous enough to give us 0.5 yards on Patrick Mahomes’ passing yards total.

That means he only needs to throw for one yard for this leg of your entry to cash. It’s a no-brainer.

As you can see in the screenshot from the optimizer, both of those show up green, which means profitable.

The sportsbooks have set Theis’ rebounds total to 4.5, and we’re getting 5 on Underdog. If he gets 5, our bet pushes while those that take the under on the books are losers.

For St. Brown, the sportsbooks are heavily juicing the 6.5 line to the over. At Underdog, we have a fixed payout structure where the odds and payout don’t change depending on if you take the over or under.

PrizePicks is doing exactly the same thing as Underdog and ParlayPlay, but with Dak instead of Mahomes.

Prescott only has to throw for one passing yard for that leg of your entry to cash.

Sleeper: Christian McCaffrey Free Rushing Yards Prop (Sign Up with Promo Code “ODDS” for a First-Deposit Match up to $100)

Sleeper is doing a very similar promo but with rushing yards instead of passing. CMC is obviously going to rush for at least one yard, so this is a free leg to put in your Sleeper entry.

VividPicks is running it back with the Mahomes square again. It’s the exact same process as Underdog and ParlayPlay.

Promo #1: Week 1 No Sweat

Head to the promos page at DraftKings and opt in to this no sweat promo for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday.

If you lose the bet, you’ll get your stake back in a bonus (free) bet up to a certain amount. My listed amount here is $10, but it varies depending on the user and state.

Promo #2: TNF Up 7 Early Win

This is one of my favorite promotions that any sportsbook does. If you place a pregame moneyline bet on either the Chiefs or Lions and your chosen team goes up by 7 points, you win.

It’s that simple. If you take the Lions and they score a touchdown on the opening drive of the game, you are paid out in full. It doesn’t matter if the Chiefs dominate from that point on and win 42-7…since the Lions were still up 7 at one point in the game you will be paid out.

Be sure to apply the early win token on your bet slip for this to come into play.

Again, my max for this is $25 but it varies depending on the user and state.

Promo #1: No-Sweat Bet

This is very similar to what I discussed with DraftKings above, but may as well do it on FanDuel too!

Here my maximum refund is $5 which is quite lame, but maybe you’ll have better luck for your account maximum.

Promo #2: Super Win Bonus

This is a very cool one. If you bet $50 or more on a team to win the Super Bowl, you will get a $5 bonus bet for each game that team wins during the regular season up to $50.

So if I bet $50 on the 49ers and they win 10 or more games, I’ll get all $50 back in bonus bets regardless of if they end up winning the Super Bowl or not.

Promo #1: NFL Futures Bet & Get

Well, this is exactly the same as the FanDuel one right above. Pick a second team to follow all season!

Promo #2: 50% NFL SGP Profit Boost

Until Thursday, opt in and get a 50% profit boost to use on a Same Game Parlay with +400 minimum odds for the Lions vs. Chiefs game.

This is a great way to start the NFL season. Cook up an SGP to sweat out…with 50% more profit.
