Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens Picks: Lamar Jackson Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns |+135 on Bet365
Sunday, September 10 | 1:00 p.m. ET
While the NFL season officially got underway Thursday night in a dramatic and unexpected result, we get our first full slate of games today, on this beautiful Sunday. With a handful of exciting games on the card, we’re eyeing this one specifically and one player in particular – Lamar Jackson. A lot of controversy has surrounded Lamar over the last season in relation to his injury and commitment to the team, but we don’t see that as an issue against what should be an improved Texans squad, but still a Texans squad nonetheless.
Using the OddsJam Positive Expected Value tool, one NFL Player Prop jumped out to us immediately. Lamar Jackson Passing Touchdowns. Upon scanning the board, we immediately saw some value based on what various books were offering this wager at. We personally locked this in at Bet365 at +135 and always encourage you to shop around for the best line possible. Why? Well, other books on the board such as Hotstreak have this listed at -110, while other mainstream books like PointsBet (+105) and Pinny (+108) are really giving us the short end of the stick. With over 40 cents of value to be had, it was impossible for us to turn away from this bet. Let’s discuss it more below.
Lamar Jackson will likely be without his big TE weapon Mark Andrews who is listed as unlikely to play with a Quadriceps injury. That normally would hinder a QB and their ability to find the endzone, but with Lamar, we’re not so sure. Having brought in Odell Beckham Jr. it should help ease any concerns the injury to Andrews may have caused initially. Furthermore, Lamar will enter this season with a massive chip on his shoulder. We all saw the situation play out last season with his commitment to the team being called into question.

The man wants to get paid and will be out to seek the contract he deserves. With this being Week 1, we have no real stats to look at, but let’s take a brief look into last season as to what to potentially expect this season. Lamar played in 12 Regular season games last year, throwing for 17 TD’s, but failing to throw a TD in three of those 12 games. In those 12 games. Lamar threw for two TD’s or more in four (33%) of them, but three of those four games came in the opening three games of the season.
Considering the context of Lamar’s situation and his new addition of OBJ as a top WR target, there’s no reason to think the Ravens can’t open the season up with a huge victory over the Houston Texans in front of their home crowd. We’re riding with Lamar in Week 1 and encourage you to do the same.
