Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Jets Pick: Jalen Hurts Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns | +132 on FanDuel

Sunday, October 15 | 4:25 p.m. ET

The Eagles travel to New York to take on the Jets in one of four-afternoon games on the slate; none of which are expected to be memorable games. The Eagles enter this Week Six matchup with a 5-0 record; albeit a not-so-convincing 5-0 record, while the Jets are somehow one win away from reaching .500. A feat that was deemed impossible after their big off-season acquisition Aaron Rodgers went down with an Achilles injury. The Jets are also facing an injury crisis in other areas of the gridiron for Sunday and we will be looking to take advantage of that when backing Jalen Hurts to throw two or more TD passes this afternoon.

Using the OddsJam Positive Expected Value tool, we were scrambling to find some great Jalen Hurts props to slam given the depleted secondary of the Jets and we found some great value on his TD prop. We have locked in Jalen Hurts to throw Over 1.5 TD passes at +132 on FanDuel. Every week, we state how important it is to shop for the best line possible, and again we are receiving a ton of value by shopping at various books; 40 cents of value in fact. Hotstreak is offering this same wager at -108 while other books, such as Fliff, have it listed at +100. Caesars is listing it at +102. It is impossible to pass up this kind of value and more when considering the state of this Jets squad. Let’s dig into this a bit deeper below.

In 18 games (playoffs included), during the 2022 NFL season, Jalen Hurts threw two TDs or more in nine games (50%), which does not seem impressive, but when looking at the regular season, Hurts did so in 8 of 15 games (53%) for a slight boost. More importantly, Hurts has thrown for at least one TD in every game in the 2023 season, which suggests he is more than capable of getting the ball into a receiver’s hands in the endzone. The numbers aren’t jaw-dropping, we can acknowledge and agree to that, but the Jets have allowed opposing QBs to throw at least one TD against them in every game this season, with both Russell Wilson and Dak Presott having thrown two each in their respective matchups.

Furthermore, as mentioned, the Jets are facing serious injury issues on the defensive side with Sauce Gardner, D.J. Reed and Brandin Echols all missing from the lineup. It is a situation we fully expect A.J Brown, DeVonta Smith and Jalen Hurts to take advantage of and allow us to cash our tickets. Lock it in!
