The haters are going to say that this bet has no chance since Baker Mayfield is taking over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offense. They’re right about one thing, Chris Godwin’s production is going to take a hit. Obviously. But look at the number. We’re not asking this guy to go out and set a record. We’re talking about 60+ yards here. Godwin caught 104 balls last season and he wasn’t even active for two games. He’s legit. Godwin could get this number with you playing quarterback.

The thing is, this really isn’t totally about Godwin. This is more about the matchup and game script. I think Tampa Bay is going to get waxed on Sunday. We’re talking 2+ scores here people. So what happens when something like that happens, teams are forced to throw. Even if they have Baker Mayfield playing quarterback for them. And when Mayfield is throwing the ball, it will be against a defense that has given up the most receiving yards to the receiver position in each of the last two seasons. Feels right.
