OddsJam betting expert @NorthSideCapper is back with his favorite bet of the day for Sunday’s slate of NFL action.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Minnesota Vikings Pick: Alexander Mattison Under 51.5 Rushing Yards | -110 at Bet365

Sunday, September 24 | 1:00 p.m. ET

Sunday afternoon is going to kick off with a bang – two of the top offensive clubs in the NFL will do battle in what is expected to be an entertaining, edge of your seat sort of affair.

For both teams, this is quite possibly their season as they both take the field sitting at 0-2. Today, we will be looking at one Vikings running back who is being given way too much respect in the player prop department and we simply cannot understand why. Alexander Mattison is an average NFL RB who fails to impress almost weekly, we’re targeting his rushing yards prop which sits at 51.5 yards at the time of writing.

Using the OddsJam Positive Expected Value tool, we browsed through all books offering Mattison Props and discovered one that was either asleep when putting their odds out or simply does not care about losing money; either way, we’re taking advantage of that.

We’ve locked in Alexander Mattison Under 51.5 Rushing Yards and did so at Bet365 who are offering this wager to us at -110. All books seem to agree that Mattison probably goes under this number when taking into consideration the numbers they’re pumping out to the public, however Pinny (-138) and Caesars (-131) are not the books you want to be running to when placing this bet. We are receiving over 28 cents of value by looking elsewhere. Let’s dig into this bet a bit more below.

In the 2022 NFL season, Mattison never carried the ball more than 10 times in a single game and rushed for a season single game high of 54 yards in Week 18 versus the Chicago Bears. Prior to that, Mattison had gone 17 games without really ever sniffing the total books have him at today reaching highs of 38 yards (Packers), 40 yards (Cardinals) and 36 yards (Packers) all while averaging 3.4 yards per carry during the campaign.

In 2023, Mattison has ran for 34 and 28 yards in the first two weeks of the season. Look, simply put, Mattison does not have big games and the numbers do not lie. He has eclipsed the total of 51.5 yards one time in the last 19 games in which he has carried the football – not impressive. We see no reason why that is going to change today and are moving ahead with full confidence. Lock it in with us!
