For the first game of Sunday’s parlay, we’re looking at a matchup between Creighton and San Diego State. To get here, 6-seed Creighton has beaten NC State, Baylor, and Princeton, while 5-seed San Diego State has beaten Charleston, Furman, and (1-seed) Alabama.
The obvious advantage here goes to San Diego State on account of their drubbing of a team many were calling the best team in basketball. Creighton has been the better offensive team through the tournament thus far, but SDSU has been living off of their defense and it’s significantly better than Creighton’s.

Creighton might be favored, but we love underdogs in the tournament, and SDSU has loved being underdogs. I’m taking the San Diego State moneyline.

For the second leg of Sunday’s parlay, we’re looking at a matchup between two powerhouse teams, Miami (a 5-seed) and Texas (a 2-seed). In accordance with their seeding, Texas is favored here, and unlike the first leg of our parlay, I do like the favorite in this one.
Looking at the numbers in the tournament thus far, Miami has actually been the better team — they score more, they allow essentially the same number of points, they rebound better, and they shoot slightly better from the field.

That said, the tournament is just a small portion of the basketball season, and Texas has been the better team all year. Miami will keep this close, as they’re the absolute definition of a live dog, but Texas will pull this one out. The main line is Texas -3.5, but I’m taking them at -2.5 because I have a strong suspicion this could come down to one possession.
