After a blowout in game 1, the Warriors look to take a 2-0 series lead at home tonight. The Mavericks had a horrendous shooting night in game 1, shooting 36% from the field and 23% from 3. Now, in a critical game 2, coach Jason Kidd must figure out how to get his role players more involved.

Without those players stepping up, Luka had very little room to operate and look like his normal self. Of course, that’s much easier said than done when the Warriors can throw a barrage of defenders, like Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins at the Maverick’s star player.

I love opportunities to buy/sell points off the mainline, without giving up value. On this play, you’re getting an extra half point, but still getting mainline value. After Wednesday’s beating, the line certainly shot up towards the Warriors. However, I see plenty of opportunity for the Mavericks to make up ground, if they can get their role players involved.

Only 3 starters in double digits won’t cut it against the 3 time champs. I’m looking for the Mavs to show some pride, get their secondary players involved, and give more space for Luke to cook. All of which will allow them to slow down the Warriors attack and keep the game much closer than game 1.

The Warriors won comfortably on Wednesday night, thanks in large part to an incredibly dysfunctional looking Mavs offense. Andrew Wiggins stepped up big time on his defense of Luka Doncic, contributing to 7 turnovers from Doncic. Golden State scored 16% of their points on fast breaks and 13% off turnovers.

I’m looking for those numbers to come down, as the Mavericks now have time to review and counter the Warriors stout defense. If the Mavs can figure out a way to cut down on turnovers and focus more on getting easy buckets, the Warriors pace will slow down tremendously. 

Draymond Green Over 8.5 Rebounds | +100 at BetMGM

I love this +EV play here from BetMGM. Draymond has been a rebound machine for the Dubs this postseason (assuming he doesn’t get ejected from the game).

He has a very advantageous matchup in this series. He’s matched up mostly with Reggie Bullock, who certainly isn’t known for his rebound skills. This, along with Wiggins locking down Luka, will lead to plenty of opportunities on the glass for Draymond.
