There’s 15 MLB games on Tuesday, and I’ve zoned in on the 2 best MLB picks for tonight. Both of my FanDuel betting picks are player props.
Mets vs Tigers: Riley Greene over 1.5 Bases at +200 Odds
My first MLB bet for Tuesday, May 2 is a player prop. I’m on Riley Greene over 1.5 Bases at +200 odds. Like most of my MLB bets, this player prop was found on the OddsJam Positive EV Tool.
As seen in the screenshot above, FanDuel is the only sportsbook offering above +170 odds on this player prop pick. The “average odds” across the entire sports betting market is +159. We’re getting 41 cents of improvement on FanDuel at +200, so there’s clear value on this play.
As sharp bettors, we treat every sportsbook as a data point on where the line should be set. DraftKings has Riley Greene over 1.5 Bases @ +155 odds, Caesars @ +151, Betway @ +140, TonyBet @ +149, etc. These are all data points making us more confident that FanDuel is “slipping up” and offering too much value on Greene over 1.5 Bases.

This is really what’s so crazy & fascinating about sports betting – all bookmakers set lines independently. For the exact same bet, you’re getting only +140 odds on Betway, so you definitely don’t want to take Greene’s o1.5 Bases on Betway – they have a horrible price compared to the rest of the market.
Greene is batting 0.260 on the season with 1 home run and 5 RBIs. I always like to show that I “put my money where my mouth is,” so here’s my betslip from FanDuel. I’m staking $50 on FanDuel to win $100 in profit.
Pirates vs Rays: Roansy Contreras over 5.5 Ks at +140 odds
My second MLB bet on FanDuel is Roansy Contreras o5.5 Strikeouts @ +140 odds. This betting pick is for the Pirates vs Rays game tonight.
The two best teams in baseball are squaring off against each other, so this game should be exciting. The Pirates enter tonight boasting the best record in the National League, 20-9. The Tampa Bay Rays are 23-6.
I found this MLB bet on the OddsJam Positive EV Tool as well. Once again, we’re getting clear value on FanDuel. No other sportsbook is offering this player prop better than +120 odds, and we’re getting +140 on FanDuel. Follow the data & lock in this bet ASAP!
Following the data & finding inefficiencies in the market is the easiest, most logical way to beat the sportsbooks long-term. You’re essentially taking advantage of sportsbook ‘mistakes’ when they slip up and offer too much value.
The OddsJam sports betting software has MLB odds from 190+ sportsbooks, so the Positive EV Tool is valuable for finding sharp bets on all major bookmakers, including PrizePicks, Caesars, Underdog Fantasy, DraftKings & BetMGM.
As seen in the image above, FanDuel sportsbook gave me a max betting limit of $37.50 on this player prop pick. It’s a little disappointing, as I would’ve liked to wager more on this prop bet.
However, betting limits are just part of the game… Sportsbooks set maximum bet sizes, not you. If a sportsbook thinks you’re a sophisticated customer, then they’ll cut down your max betting limits. It stinks, but it’s true. I’ve had low betting limits on FanDuel for the past 3 years, but I’ve still been able to profit over $9,000 on FanDuel so far this year.
My FanDuel profit & loss for 2023 can be seen above. I use Pikkit Sports, which is a verified bet tracker. You sync your sportsbook accounts, and Pikkit automatically reads in your bets & grades them as wins/losses.
I’m currently up $9,081.98 with a 7.95% ROI. Thus, I’ve wagered $114,239 total so far this year on FanDuel. That may seem like a lot of money, but you have to remember we’re 120 days into 2023. I’m betting less than $1,000 on FanDuel each day, and I’ve still managed to profit over $9,000. It’s a hustle game. Sports betting requires time & energy – every day, you need to hunt through the market & find plays with an edge.
As seen in the screenshot above from my bet tracker, I still have losing streaks. Being a profitable bettor doesn’t mean you win every day…. That’s impossible. However, if you’re plays have a mathematical edge, you’ll win long-term. You’re essentially flipping a coin that is weighted in your favor.
My bet on FanDuel can be seen in the picture above. I hit this player prop for the maximum I could ($37.50). I’m staking $37.50 to win $52.50 in profit.
