The line I’m eyeing today seems way too low and brings us a lot of value. From it’s current spot at -135, I think this line will move to approximately -150 — so let’s get this one locked in early.

The St. Louis Cardinals rank fifth in the league in hits per game and eighth in batting average. Not only did Tyler O’Neill return from the IL, but with a righty on the mound for the Pirates, we should see young stud Nolan Gorman inserted into the lineup tonight.

Mitch Keller started against St. Louis earlier in the season and got crushed. He allowed 6 hits and 4 earned runs in 4 IP. The Pirates as a team do not hit well overall and especially against lefties.

They rank 27th in hits per game, have the seventh-lowest batting average against left-handed pitchers and have the second-fewest hits on the road this season.

They are on a six-game losing streak and I expect that to continue to seven tonight. The Pirates have been outhit in five of their last six games. The Cardinals, on the other hand, have the second-most hits against RHP in the entire league.

They will be starting a rookie pitcher making his debut, however, in most cases, this sparks the team’s bats as they try their hardest to get the rookie a win.
