Today’s MLB slate is packed with intriguing matchups, offering a variety of pitching options to consider for your DFS lineups. We’ll break down each game, highlighting the key pitchers, their recent performances, and how the matchups could impact the DFS landscape. Let’s dive in!

White Sox vs. Rockies – 2:10 PM ET – Coors Field

Pitching Matchup: Jonathan Cannon (CHW) vs. Cal Quantrill (COL)

Game Preview:

  • Jonathan Cannon is a young pitcher with a mix of solid outings and struggles. His ERA is sitting at 4.59, and he’s coming off a tough outing where he got shelled for seven hits and eight runs in just one inning against the Tigers. Coors Field is a hitter’s paradise, so Cannon could be in for another rough day.
  • Cal Quantrill has been serviceable for the Rockies with a 3.50 ERA. His recent starts have been decent, including a solid outing against the Dodgers. However, the Rockies’ bullpen is one of the worst in the league, which could lead to late-game scoring.

Reds vs. Cardinals – 2:15 PM ET – Busch Stadium

Pitching Matchup: Carson Spears (CIN) vs. Sonny Gray (STL)

Game Preview:

  • Sonny Gray has been outstanding, especially at home with a 2.81 ERA. His recent performance against the Giants was dominant, going seven innings and giving up just one hit and one earned run. Gray is a top pitching option today.
  • Carson Spears is making only his third start of the season. He’s been shaky, giving up four and three runs in his previous starts. The Cardinals’ offense will look to capitalize on his inexperience.

Yankees vs. Blue Jays – 3:07 PM ET – Rogers Centre

Pitching Matchup: Nestor Cortes (NYY) vs. Chris Bassett (TOR)

Game Preview:

  • Nestor Cortes has been reliable with a 3.40 ERA. Despite some struggles on the road, he’s facing a Blue Jays team that hasn’t hit lefties well.
  • Chris Bassett has a 3.45 ERA but faces a Yankees lineup that crushes sinkers, his primary pitch. This could be a challenging outing for Bassett.

Phillies vs. Marlins – 4:10 PM ET – loanDepot Park

Pitching Matchup: Aaron Nola (PHI) vs. Roder Munoz (MIA)

Game Preview:

  • Aaron Nola is a dependable arm with a 3.39 ERA. He’s coming off a strong performance against the Tigers, and he’ll look to dominate a weak Marlins lineup.
  • Roder Munoz has struggled significantly, with a 5.80 ERA and giving up six home runs in his last two starts. The Phillies’ hot bats could have a field day against him.

Padres vs. Red Sox – 4:10 PM ET – Fenway Park

Pitching Matchup: Michael King (SD) vs. Tanner Houck (BOS)

Game Preview:

  • Michael King has a 3.75 ERA and has been a steady presence for the Padres. However, he’s facing a Red Sox lineup that has been strong, especially at home.
  • Tanner Houck is having a solid season with a 2.18 ERA. He’s been excellent at home, and despite the Padres’ recent hot streak, Houck could be a challenging matchup for them.

Guardians vs. Royals – 4:10 PM ET – Kauffman Stadium

Pitching Matchup: Tanner Bibee (CLE) vs. Cole Ragans (KC)

Game Preview:

  • Tanner Bibee has been solid with a 3.50 ERA. He’s facing a Royals team that has been hitting better recently but remains inconsistent.
  • Cole Ragans has a 3.03 ERA and is coming off a stellar outing with 11 strikeouts. He’ll need to be sharp against a Guardians lineup that can be dangerous.

Cubs vs. Brewers – 4:10 PM ET – American Family Field

Pitching Matchup: Justin Steele (CHC) vs. Tobias Myers (MIL)

Game Preview:

  • Justin Steele has been excellent with a 3.08 ERA. He’s had success against the Brewers in the past and could be a key play today.
  • Tobias Myers has been solid with a 3.12 ERA. He’s facing a Cubs lineup that has struggled offensively, making him a decent option as well.

Braves vs. Pirates – 4:10 PM ET – Truist Park

Pitching Matchup: Max Fried (ATL) vs. Paul Skenes (PIT)

Game Preview:

  • Max Fried has been dominant with a 3.00 ERA. He’s facing a Pirates team that has struggled offensively, making him a top pitching choice.
  • Paul Skenes is a promising young pitcher with a 2.14 ERA. This could be a low-scoring game, with both pitchers likely to perform well.

Mets vs. Astros – 4:10 PM ET – Minute Maid Park

Pitching Matchup: Tyler Megill (NYM) vs. Framber Valdez (HOU)

Game Preview:

  • Framber Valdez has a 3.68 ERA and has been strong lately. The Mets have been hot, but Valdez should provide a tough challenge.
  • Tyler Megill has struggled with a 4.81 ERA, making this a potentially high-scoring game for the Astros.

Diamondbacks vs. Athletics – 4:10 PM ET – Chase Field

Pitching Matchup: Zack Gallen (ARI) vs. Hogan Harris (OAK)

Game Preview:

  • Zack Gallen is back from injury with a 3.12 ERA. If healthy, he’s a top-tier pitching option against a weak Athletics lineup.
  • Hogan Harris has been decent with a 2.72 ERA but faces a potent Diamondbacks offense.

Nationals vs. Rays – 4:10 PM ET – Tropicana Field

Pitching Matchup: Jake Irvin (WSH) vs. Aaron Civale (TB)

Game Preview:

  • Jake Irvin has been solid on the road with a 3.13 ERA. He’ll face a Rays lineup that has been inconsistent.
  • Aaron Civale has a 5.20 ERA but has shown flashes of brilliance. He’s at home, where he’s been better, making this an interesting matchup.

Dodgers vs. Giants – 4:10 PM ET – Oracle Park

Pitching Matchup: Tyler Glasnow (LAD) vs. Eric Miller (SF)

Game Preview:

  • Tyler Glasnow is a dominant pitcher with a 2.88 ERA. He’s facing a Giants team that can struggle offensively.
  • Eric Miller is less experienced, and facing a strong Dodgers lineup could be challenging.

Angels vs. Tigers – 4:10 PM ET – Angel Stadium

Pitching Matchup: Griffin Canning (LAA) vs. Reese Olson (DET)

Game Preview:

  • Griffin Canning has a 4.72 ERA and has struggled at times. The Tigers’ offense has been weak, giving Canning a chance to bounce back.
  • Reese Olson has a 3.35 ERA and has been better recently. He’ll face an Angels lineup missing key players like Mike Trout.

Twins vs. Mariners – 4:10 PM ET – T-Mobile Park

Pitching Matchup: Pablo Lopez (MIN) vs. Bryce Miller (SEA)

Game Preview:

  • Pablo Lopez is coming off an impressive 14-strikeout performance. He’s facing a Mariners team that has struggled offensively.
  • Bryce Miller has a 3.90 ERA and has been solid at home. This could be a low-scoring game with both pitchers performing well.
