Milwaukee Brewers (19-11) at Cincinnati Reds (6-23)
6:40 p.m. ET
At this point in the season, any reasonable bettor should be hunting for opportunities to fade the Reds against any serviceable team.
They managed to win a series against the Pittsburgh Pirates (no great feat) and actually beat the Brewers last night. It might look like they’re on the up.
But the more likely scenario is the Brewers fell asleep at the wheel last night and let an easy one slip. They’ve now woken up and won’t let it happen again.
The pitching staff is way too good to give up 10 to the Reds. This has all the markings of a blowout win. Hunter Greene has been extremely hittable and the Brewers have the bullpen if they get in trouble.
Take this one to the bank.
Tampa Bay Rays (18-12) at Los Angeles Angels (20-11)
9:40 p.m. ET
The line is set pretty tight here, but it looks like the Rays have the clear advantage. Corey Kluber will be starting for the Rays amidst a solid campaign this year.
He’s improved on almost every metric over last year and has posted an excellent ERA of 2.36 across 26 1/3 innings.
On the other side, Reid Detmers is still struggling to get his footing in the league. Nothing stands out, but the walks are concerning, the hard hit rate is high and — for whatever it’s worth (opinions vary) — his whiff rate is one of the worst in the league.
Tampa’s lineup has been a little inconsistent but they tend to do well in games they are supposed to, which should include this one.
