The Yankees are running very high on momentum after a three-game sweep of the Angels and seven innings of a perfect game last night.
Now in comes Gerrit Cole amidst a run for the Cy Young facing a very iffy Tigers lineup.

That said, the Tigers pitching has been excellent lately and you can’t discount the momentum they have off their own three-game win streak.
But Elvin Rodriguez hasn’t done enough to think the Yankees won’t take advantage. With a 7.2 ERA away from home, the 24 year old rookie has potential but not yet poise.
Expect the Yankees to clean this one up easily.

Max Fried will be starting for the Braves tonight and I’m not convinced he’ll be able to pull off a good start in what has become the ultimate hitters park in Coors Field.
The Rockies have been hitting the ball really well, netting an average of 6 runs over their last seven games.
Fried is a great pitcher without a doubt, but he doesn’t throw a ton of strikeouts, which doesn’t bear well in Colorado.

Deep pop-outs become home runs and Fried’s hard-hit percentage isn’t what it used to be.
His average exit velocity is also very high, meaning when they get good contact, it’s very good.
All this adds up to a lot of runs, probably on both sides but especially for the Rockies.
