Happy Friday — I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
The first game up on today’s slate will be the Mariners against the Rangers in Texas. This matchup will feature pitchers Logan Gilbert vs. Dane Dunning, with the obvious edge going to Gilbert.
Gilbert is Seattle’s ace and he is coming into the game with a 3-1 road record and 2.03 ERA. In his last start, he pitched against the high-powered Astros offense and didn’t allow a single run in seven innings.
If he shut down the Astros there’s no doubt he can shut down the Rangers offense.

Don’t be surprised if Gilbert doesn’t allow a single run scored.
The Rangers will be going with Dunning and things can get ugly fast if he doesn’t pitch well. He has a 4.31 ERA on the season and has allowed 15 runs in his last four games.
That’s a recipe for disaster against a Mariners team with an offense that has been heating up.
I’m backing the Mariners F5 moneyline and putting my trust in Gilbert. Let’s get another winner!

For the late slate, we have the Boston Red Sox taking a trip to Oakland to face the Athletics. The A’s are coming into tonight’s matchup losing six of their last seven games and struggling heavily on offense.
Tonight’s pitching matchup will be Nathan Eovaldi against James Kaprielian, with the advantage going to the Red Sox.
Eovaldi comes into the game with a 3.77 ERA but it drops to 2.97 on the road where he is pitching better on the season. He has won his last two starts and struck out a total of 17 batters.

He has a favorable matchup and I expect him to shut down the A’s and get his third straight win tonight.
Kaprielian, who will be starting for the Athletics, has been struggling recently, allowing nine runs in nine innings. He also has an alarming 7.71 ERA at home and has allowed 2 home runs in each of his home games.
That is great news for the Red Sox offense. They can score in bunches and they can score fast.
Look for the Red Sox offense to explode tonight and let’s ride the Red Sox F5 -0.5 to the bank.
