Although these teams are already weak, they are both playing at their weakest locations. The A’s have scored the least runs at home in the MLB this season, while the Tigers have scored the least road runs in the MLB this season. These teams have faced off five times thus far, with the under hitting in the first three games.
The other two games consisted of an eight and nine run total, barely going over this number. The Tigers rank dead last in runs per game (3.1) while Oakland ranks second to last. (3.3) Oakland ranks dead last in hits per game, team batting average, team SLG and team OBP. They also have the league’s worst batting average against left-handed pitching.
The Tigers are not much better in these categories. With Tarik Skubal on the mound, estimating a poor offensive game for Oakland is a well-rounded take. Unless the A’s reenact the “Moneyball” team, this game goes under.
