Cardinals vs. Red Sox Betting Preview
7:10 p.m. ET
Happy Friday everyone! Welcome back to today’s first five best bets! We have not lost a best bet in three straight days. Let’s make it four in a row today.
Today’s first pick features Cardinals vs. Red Sox for the first game of the series in Boston. The starters for tonight‘s matchup will be Adam Wainwright vs. Michael Wacha, with the advantage going to Wacha.
The Red Sox offense is coming into this matchup with hot bats, scoring 19 runs in their last three games. Wainwright could be in for a short outing if he doesn’t bring his A-game.

He has a 3-2 record on the road with a 3.00 ERA. In his last two games, he has allowed 17 hits and 5 runs scored. I expect him to struggle tonight against a high-powered offense and give up runs early.
For the Red Sox, they are starting Wacha and he has been having a great season to say the least. He has a 0.86 ERA at home and he is coming off one of his worst outings of the season, allowing 8 hits and 4 runs.
He is due for a big bounce-back game at home. Look for him to hold it down on the mound today and contain the Cardinals offense.
I’m rolling with the Red Sox first five Moneyline and putting my trust in Wacha. Let’s start the weekend off with a winner!
For the later game today we have a preview of the White Sox paying a visit to Houston to play the Astros. We have a pitching matchup of Lucas Giolito vs. Framber Valdez. This has the potential of being a high-scoring game with the pitchers on the mound today.
Giolito has been mediocre this season. His last few starts have not been so great. He has allowed 22 hits and allowed an alarming 15 runs! That will not be acceptable tonight against an Astros offense that has hitters up and down the lineup who can homer at any at-bat.
I expect Giolito to struggle immensely tonight.
Valdez is also in for a rough outing tonight as well and he also seems to pitch worse at home for some reason. He has a 2-2 record with a 4.15 ERA. Another Issue for him will be that the White Sox excel against left-handed pitchers.
He is going to give up plenty of hits tonight that will turn into runs fast. Look for him to also struggle tonight.
This will be a high-scoring game with both pitchers allowing a lot of hits and runs. Take the first over four and let’s sweep again!
