College football blue bloods lead the way in the initial National Championship odds. Defending champion, Georgia, sits at the top of the list at +300, while Alabama follows close behind at +500.
After losing in the playoff to Georgia, Ohio State (+650) is next up while Heisman Trophy-winner Caleb Williams and USC (+800) round out the top four.
While Stetson Bennett will no longer be in the picture, Georgia will remain just as talented as ever heading into 2023. The Bulldogs’ schedule appears very manageable as well.
Outside of a trip to Tennessee in November, it’s hard to find a regular-season game where Georgia will not be favored by at least two touchdowns.

If the Bulldogs run the table, even a loss in the SEC Championship would probably still have them in the playoff.
That said, winning three titles in a row is extremely difficult. The last team to do so was Minnesota from 1934-36.
Star tight end Brock Bowers will return, and since Georgia’s roster is almost exclusively four and five-star recruits, there shouldn’t be much of a talent decline overall.
Tennessee went 11-2 in 2022, and star quarterback Hendon Hooker suffered a season-ending injury in the second loss. The Volunteers showed what an explosive offense they can run under head coach Josh Heupel.
Hooker won’t be back, but Tennessee will turn to Joe Milton to have a similar breakout season in 2023 as Hooker did this past season.
The schedule appears manageable outside of a trip to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama, as well as a home date with Georgia. Should Tennessee win one of those two games, a path to the playoff appears likely.
The Pac-12 will be a gauntlet next season, as the conference ended the 2022 season with five of the nation’s top 17 teams in the AP Poll.
However, if any school can survive the typical cannibalism in the conference, it’s USC led by defending Heisman winner Caleb Williams.
Head coach Lincoln Riley will have had another offseason to install his vision for the program, and will likely be aided by a stellar transfer class yet again.
The Pac-12 will be good enough where one loss won’t eliminate its champion from playoff contention, and I trust USC to avoid multiple defeats.

2022 National Championship Prediction: Georgia | +300 at Caesars
After Alabama ran college football through the 2010s, this appears to be a decade dominated by Georgia. The Bulldogs have already won the last two titles and show no signs of slowing down.
The recruiting classes are as great as ever, if not better, under head coach Kirby Smart. There will likely be an open competition for the quarterback spot throughout spring ball, but whoever wins the job will be surrounded by talent vastly superior to the opposition.
