After a disappointing start to the year; the Boston Red Sox made some serious deadline moves. The additions of Tommy Pham and Eric Hosmer added a much-needed boost to the lineup.

Although the results have not translated immediately, tonight is a great matchup to get back on track on their home field. Boston ranks 6th in hits per game and 11th in runs per game. Baltimore ranks 19th in both. Baltimore’s lineup is severely weak and is no match for Boston’s.

Baltimore pitcher Dean Kramer is coming off a great start, but struggled prior. In the three starts prior to his last game, Kramer allowed a total of 13 earned runs within 13.1 innings pitched.

The departure of Trey Mancini for the O’s is a significant loss and should help Boston pitcher Josh Winckowski today. Overall Boston has a massive advantage on paper and I expect that to correlate with the performance today. Go Sox!
