Nationals vs. Mariners Pick: Trevor Williams 5+ Strikeouts | +112 at FanDuel
I found this banger at FanDuel, but if you can’t play there, don’t sweat. If you open up the OddsJam screen (greatest screen in the history of screens), you’ll see both BetMGM, DraftKings and PointsBet all have +110. That’s not that bad. Actually, FanDuel has over 4.5 (+110) but if you get gangster and look in the “Trevor Williams – Alt Strikeouts” section, you’ll see 5+ (+112). I know that difference doesn’t seem like much but we’re going to make 1000+ bets this year. If you were able to do that on every bet, that small amount would add up to a big amount (math).
I know you don’t want to go in on Trevor Williams again but I feel like we have to. The haters are going to say Williams has not reached this number in two straight starts but as always, the haters just don’t get it. For starters, those starts came against the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins. Neither one of those teams are a squad we would ever test Trevor against even though Williams fanned four Cardinals. We know Trevor by now and so we know the kind of teams to send him out to collect from. We’re talking about a guy who went over this number in four of five starts before his last two games.
Tonight, we have an opponent Williams can sit down in the Seattle Mariners. These guys have fanned 60 times in their last 206 at bats. I’m no math nerd but that’s a lot. It’s not just recently though. Go back and look at the full season stats. Only three teams in MLB have fanned more than the Mariners. Going through their lineup, it looks like we have a chance of seeing nine guys that have all whiffed 20+% of the time over the last seven days. That’s crazy. I don’t think we should be getting this for plus money. Feels like a deal.
