Nationals vs. Dodgers Player Prop Bets Today – July 27, 2022: Expect the Dodgers Bats to Rebound Against the Struggling Corbin

If you had told me the Dodgers would be at risk of being swept before this series, I would have laughed at you. However, as many have said, that is why they play the game. 

The Dodgers should walk out onto that field today with a bit of urgency playing in front of their home crowd looking to avoid the sweep. Luckily for them, they face one of the league’s worst pitchers.

Patrick Corbin will take the mound for the Nats in the midst of a rough year. He was once a very good pitcher in his Arizona days, and was arguably the top pitching free agent this offseason Washington brought him in. He enjoyed one solid season for the Nats, and everything began to fall apart. 

After a 5.82 ERA last season, he has followed it up with a 6.02 ERA so far this season. He has a 1.70 WHIP and opposing batters are hitting .315 off of him. He is in the 11st percentile in average exit velo, 12th percentile in hard hit %, and 6th percentile or worse in all x stats (xwOBA, xERA, xBA, and xSLG).

He has allowed 18 home runs in 20 starts. He will take his 7.38 road ERA to Dodger Stadium this afternoon against one of the league’s top offenses. 

With all of this said, I will be targeting his outs prop. I am looking at the under 16.5 (under 5 and 2/3 innings) today. He is under in 9 of 20 starts this season, and 3 out of 9 in away games. 

The Dodgers offense has been every bit as good as advertised. They average the 2nd most runs per game at 5.11. They hit the 5th most home runs per game, 5th in team batting average, 1st in on base percentage, 4th in slugging percentage, and 2nd in walks per game. They crush lefties, and are terrific during day games.

I think this offense will give Corbin far too much trouble to record 17+ outs in this one.
