Welcome to today’s MLB DFS Top Hitters breakdown! We’ve got a full slate of games and some juicy matchups to exploit. Today, we’ll focus on the top three DFS hitters who stand out the most and two under-the-radar plays that could give your lineups a boost. Let’s dive into the matchups and see who should be in your lineups today.

Top 3 DFS Hitters

1. Aaron Judge (NYY) vs. Cade Povich (BAL) – 7:05 PM EDT

Matchup Insight: Aaron Judge faces off against rookie left-hander Cade Povich, who has struggled mightily in his brief MLB appearances. Povich has been “obliterated” in some outings, including giving up eight runs to Oakland in one inning and six runs to Toronto over 5.1 innings.

Key Stats:

  • wOBA vs. LHP: .492
  • ISO vs. LHP: .394
  • K% vs. LHP: 27.1%

Judge’s power against lefties is unmatched. He already has more than 30 home runs this season and an OPS over 1.000, regardless of the pitcher’s handedness. With Povich allowing high power numbers to righties, Judge is in a prime spot to capitalize.

2. Christian Yelich (MIL) vs. Jackson Rutledge (WAS) – 8:10 PM EDT

Matchup Insight: Yelich faces Jackson Rutledge, who has been struggling in the majors and the minors. Rutledge has a 6.66 ERA and a 4.97 xFIP in Triple-A, and his major league performance has not been better.

Key Stats:

  • OPS Last Three Weeks: 1.050
  • wOBA vs. RHP: .406
  • ISO vs. RHP: .201

Yelich has been consistent all season, with an OPS over .900 at home, on the road, and against both righties and lefties. Rutledge’s inability to handle major league hitters makes Yelich a top play today.

3. Elly De La Cruz (CIN) vs. Yonny Chirinos (MIA) – 7:10 PM EDT

Matchup Insight: De La Cruz is up against Yonny Chirinos, who has significant splits against left-handed hitters, allowing a .487 wOBA and 1.143 OPS to them on the road.

Key Stats:

  • ISO vs. RHP: .232
  • wOBA vs. RHP: .341
  • K% vs. RHP: 31.6%

Although De La Cruz can be feast or famine, the matchup against Chirinos heavily favors him. Chirinos struggles significantly against lefties, and De La Cruz’s power potential makes him a high-upside play.

Under-the-Radar Plays

1. Jazz Chisholm Jr. (MIA) vs. Carson Spiers (CIN) – 7:10 PM EDT

Matchup Insight: Chisholm faces Carson Spiers, who has shown vulnerability against left-handed hitters, allowing a high ISO and xwOBA.

Key Stats:

  • ISO vs. RHP: .222
  • wOBA vs. RHP: .330
  • K% vs. RHP: 28.4%

Chisholm’s power and speed make him a valuable DFS asset. Against Spiers, he has a great opportunity to showcase both, especially given Spiers’ power issues against lefties.

2. Francisco Lindor (NYM) vs. Tanner Gordon (COL) – 7:10 PM EDT

Matchup Insight: Lindor faces Tanner Gordon, who is not a highly regarded prospect and has struggled in his brief MLB stint and throughout his minor league career.

Key Stats:

  • ISO vs. RHP: .182
  • wOBA vs. RHP: .342
  • K% vs. RHP: 20.5%

Lindor has been consistent against right-handed pitchers, and with Gordon’s lack of experience and struggles, Lindor is positioned to have a big game.

That wraps up today’s MLB DFS Top Hitters preview. Remember to keep an eye on lineup changes and weather updates as game time approaches. Good luck with your lineups, and may your bats be hot!
