Happy Monday to you all! The Phillies are coming off a series in which the Cubs swept them. Will they be able to bounce back in the series opener against the Braves?
The Atlanta Braves are coming off a series win against the Angels. They looked solid in their first two games but were blown out last night to end the series. They now travel to Philadelphia to take on the Phillies, who still seem to be on the all-star break after seeing their performance against the Cubs. The Braves will pitch their ace, Max Fried, who is 10-3 on the year with a 2.64 ERA. Fried has had much success against the Phillies, and I expect nothing to change today.
The Phillies do not look good right now and are dealing with some locker room drama. They will pitch Ranger Suarez tomorrow who is 7-5 with a 4.07 ERA. Suarez has struggled against the Braves this year. In his two games against them this year, he has given up nine runs through 11 innings. I expect the Braves to be able to carry on their solid performance against him tonight.
The Braves have the pitcher advantage, batting advantage, and bullpen advantage tonight, so I am taking them to start this series with a win.
