This is a massive piece of Miami’s lineup missing in the first inning. It takes away contact, power and speed. In 15 starts, Miami starter Sandy Alcantara (1.95 ERA) has only allowed a first inning run in four of them. St. Louis starter Andre Pallente (2.03 ERA) has not allowed a first inning run in his two starts.
He was moved to the starting rotation when Flaherty got put on the IL and has been stepping up big time. The Cardinals lineup is potent, ranking top 10 in runs and hits, however Sandy is a legitimate CY Young candidate and I think STL will need a few times around the lineup to adjust.
Arenado and Goldschmidt both are batting below .200 against him in their careers. Lock this one in, and enjoy a low scoring game of baseball tonight. Everyone loves a NRFI sweat!
