Today we get a nice MLB slate that features a bunch of early games giving the betting world all day action. After countless hours of research, I’ve narrowed the data down to the top play that stuck out to me the most. Let’s dive into this Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays matchup.

This is my favorite plays on the slate today. I’ve been a huge fan of Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah since he debuted last season and will ride with him once again today.
Manoah has been extremely efficient thus far in the season and has pitched six innings in all three starts, meaning there is a good chance he is on the mound for the entirety of the first half today.
The Blue Jays have won the first five innings in two of three games this season when he has pitched. The sole loss was by a 1-run deficit (2-1 score) in his recent outing. In two career starts against Boston, Manoah has a 2.45 ERA and nine strikeouts.
Elite Boston hitters have struggled against him as well. J.D. Martinez, Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers and Enrique Hernandez are a combined 2 for 18 (.111 BA) against Manoah. Toronto is 6-3 at home this season, and 7-3 in its last 10 games, while Boston is 5-7 on the road and 3-7 in its last 10.
Toronto has been crushing Boston this season, with a record of 4-2 against the Red Sox so far. In those six games, Toronto has had the lead after five innings four times. The two games without first-half leads were ties, meaning Boston has not won the first five innings outright against Toronto yet this season.
History will repeat itself today, so I’m confidently locking this one in.
