How to be a Fast, Profitable Sports Bettor

In sports betting, speed is the name of the game. The unfortunate reality of sports betting is that profitable lines aren’t going to stay up forever. Eventually, the sportsbook will realize that they have an incorrect line, and they will change that.

So, in order to be a profitable sports bettor, you need to move quick, which is what I will be detailing in this article. Luckily, it is quite easy! I have a two-step process that will help make you a fast sports bettor, which will help you make money.

How to be a FAST Sports Bettor

Step 1: Log Into All Your Sportsbook Accounts BEFORE Looking for Bets

This one is quite simple, and also requires that you are actually signed up for every sportsbook in your state as well. For me personally, I place 99% of my bets from the OddsJam Positive Expected Value page.

OddsJam’s best-in-class suite of betting tools give you the edge as a sports bettor to find the best odds and profitable betting opportunities in real time.

So, when I pull up OddsJam, I also log into all of my sportsbook accounts before even looking at the Positive EV page. That way, as soon as I find a bet that is profitable, I am already logged in and can immediately go in and place the bet.

This will only work on a computer/laptop, but I find it easiest if you have a bookmarked folder of all your sportsbook accounts.

The screenshot above is exactly what I am talking about. As soon as I start my betting process, I can easily open each of the sportsbooks linked above, and log into my accounts. Every second you can save is valuable.

It is a little more difficult if you are using a mobile device, but if the device you are using, such as an iPhone, gives you the ability to create folders on your home page, then I would recommend creating a folder with each of the sportsbook accounts there, like the below.

Step 2: Understand the Layout of Each Sportsbook

This one requires a little bit more effort on your end, but is the more important of the two steps. Once you are logged in, navigating the actual sportsbook itself is the most important part.

For example, there are some sportsbooks that have a search function, so you can easily search for the game you are looking for. Below are screenshots from popular sportsbooks and what it looks like.

Unfortunately, not every single sportsbook is going to have the ability to search. In those cases, it is important to understand how to get to the sport of the bet you are trying to place, and navigate from there.

Aside from the search function, each sportsbook is going to have a different user interface in terms of how to get to all of the different markets (main lines, player props, game props, etc.).

For example, BetMGM has a separate category specifically for player props, per the screenshot below.

Other sportsbook, such as FanDuel, is going to have a different tab for each type of player prop category.

Would it be nice if each sportsbook had the same layout across the board? Of course! But that is not the reality that we live in, unfortunately.

So, taking the time to familiarize yourself with each sportsbook and how they differ is important to being a fast sports bettor. Of course, a lot of this will come with time and the more bets you place, but it is still important.
