Matchday 4 of Champions league action and another big slate on the cards. The groups are starting to take shape and its must win for a couple teams if they have any hope of advancing. We have a couple of great matchups and some blow outs scheduled so lets find some value.
Tuesday’s Champions League Predictions & Picks
Real Madrid vs. Shakhtar Donetsk Pick: Under 3 | -115 at DraftKings
Real Madrid are favorites to wrap up the group today sitting at a -250 money line but I believe their focus will be elsewhere. No matches in the Champions League are meaningless but when you’re the world champs with a 5 point lead you can relax a bit. Real Madrid are going to be much more focused on resting players for the huge matchup vs. Barcelona this weekend.
Shakhtar are in a difficult position because they have to try to at least get a point today with Celtic and Leipzig on their back. Leipzig could jump Shakhtar in the standing with a win vs. Celtic if Shakhtar drop points at home today. I’m looking for Madrid to park the bus to rest some players and Shakhtar to play with fear not to get countered. Under is the way to go today!
RB Leipzig vs. Celtic Pick: Celtic Team Total Over 4.5 Corners | -120 at DraftKings
If you have followed this page long enough, you know how much I love Celtic corners. Yes, I know the Scottish league is one sided with almost no competition, but this is a match that Celtic have to go for. Celtic currently sit at the bottom of Group F, it would be a massive 3 points if they were to pull off the upset as +240 dogs today.
Celtic have had more than 4.5 corners 6 out of the last 6 matches and that was against big names such as Real Madrid, Shakhtar and this same Leipzig squad last week. Look for Celtic to come out pumped up at home and firing out of the gate.
Juventus vs. Maccabi Haifa Pick: Juventus ML | -120 at DraftKings
Another must win match for a big name club if they want to advance in the tournament. Juventus are sitting 4 points back from Benfica and need all 3 points to get back in it. Luckily for Juventus, Benfica play at PSG and they have already beaten Maccabi at home 3-1. Maccabi are in terrible form losing 4 of the last 5 matches with 0 points in the Champions League Group H so far.
I can see Maccabi coasting through this one to focus on their league in Israel with no hope of qualifying this year. Juventus in a wash.
