Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Predictions & Picks, Liverpool vs. Napoli & Rangers vs. Ajax

Matchday 6 of Champions League action and another big slate on the cards. The groups are starting to take shape and it’s must-win time for a couple of teams if they have any hope of advancing. We have a couple of great matchups and some blowouts scheduled so let’s find some value!

Tuesday’s Champions League Predictions & Picks

Liverpool vs. Napoli Pick: Napoli +0.5 | -105 at DraftKings

4 p.m. ET

By the way Napoli are playing, they are easily one of the top five teams in the world right now. They have won 13 straight matches across Champions and league matches against some major competition, including 4-1 smashing of this same Liverpool team last month.

Napoli seem to only be getting better so I am sure they at least walk away with at least a point here. Liverpool in the Premier League against Liverpool in the Champions League are two totally different teams.

While Liverpool sit at ninth place in the Premier League, they have only one loss in this year’s Champions League group stage. It’s like they have been saving all their energy for this competition. Napoli can officially lock up the group with a win or draw here, the only way they could possibly lose the group is Liverpool winning big to catch the goal difference.

I think both teams coast through this match so love Napoli getting +0.5.  

Sporting vs. Eintracht Frankfurt Pick: Over 2.5 | -125 at DraftKings

This is the most important match of the day tomorrow. Both teams sit with 7 points and the winner of this match will advance in Champions. Sporting currently sit at second place with the tiebreaker on goal difference over Frankfurt but there are also other factors.

Marseille are currently sitting at fourth with 6 points and play at home against Tottenham. If Marseille can find a way to beat the Spurs they could actually jump up to win the group.

My point is that Group D is wide open and both sporting and Frankfurt have to go for the win. I expect a shootout in Portugal.

Rangers vs. Ajax Pick: Ajax Moneyline | -115 at DraftKings

We’ve got two big-name clubs with a match that means absolutely nothing. The Rangers have been absolutely terrible in the Champions League this year, losing every match with a goal difference of 1:19.

They have no need to even want to compete in this match besides pride. The Rangers have a tough run coming up with five matches in the next two weeks — if ever there was a match to rest players and not care, it would be this one.

Ajax are another side that has underperformed in the Champions League. They only have 3 points in the tournament against these same Rangers, which locks them into a Europa spot. Look for Ajax to try to return to international form with a win against the Rangers who they previously beat 4-0 last month.
