Welcome to March Madness! We all know that Iowa won the Big 10 Tournament. Everyone has Iowa in their Final Four and there is no shot that Richmond wins this game, right? No one is giving Richmond a chance, especially the oddsmakers. No one, but me!
Richmond comes into the NCAA Tournament having won the A10 Tournament. Richmond needed a comeback in every game, to punch their ticket to the Big Dance. Richmond is led by Josh Gilyard and their center, Grant Golden. Tyler Burton, another leader on this team, is a huge piece of the offense as well. This Richmond team is full of veteran leadership and this group has never appeared in the NCAA Tournament during their time at Richmond. This was very evident in the A10 tournament as we watched them comeback from double digit deficits in several games. On Sunday, Richmond punched their ticket by knocking off Davidson. This team is hungry and excited to have this opportunity to finally compete together.
Iowa comes into this game after winning the Big 10 Tournament. Iowa has been playing their best basketball down the stretch. Iowa has been a huge disappointment in recent tournaments. As a two seed last year, Iowa lost to Oregon.
This number is way too high and Richmond has been disrespected all year by the oddsmakers. No one is giving the Spiders a chance and the love for Iowa is real. This is never a good thing in March Madness. Give me Richmond +10 and I will be sprinkling the moneyline as well.
