Neither the top-seeded Phoenix Suns or the No. 2 seed Memphis Grizzlies advanced to the Western Conference Finals, so the No. 3 seed Warriors have home court advantage. Both teams come into the series with all key players healthy. The Mavericks have been without Tim Hardaway Jr. for months now, and the Warriors are unlikely to get Gary Payton II back. Golden State is hopeful that Andre Iguodala may play at some point in the series.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are coming off a 4-2 series win over the Memphis Grizzlies, who did not have Ja Morant for the second half of the series. Despite missing one of the sport’s most exciting young scorers, the Grizzlies created a lot of problems for the Warriors without Morant.

It required a totally different gameplan and after a close win in Game 4 and a blowout loss in Game 5, Golden State finally pulled away in the final minutes of Game 6 to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals.

Klay Thompson broke out of a cold stretch to start the series to finish hot with a trademark “Game 6 Klay” performance with 30 points.

Kevon Looney was the unsung hero of Game 6 with a whopping 22 rebounds, and Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins had strong performances as well.

Despite averaging nearly 27 points per game this postseason, Stephen Curry has not been his normal self yet in terms of efficiency. He’s shooting just 36% from beyond the arc in the playoffs, which will need to improve if the Warriors want to get back to the NBA Finals.

Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks are coming off one of the most shocking and impressive Game 7 performances ever, beating the Phoenix Suns 123-90. It wasn’t even as close as that final score.

Luka Doncic has been on another planet during the playoffs, averaging 31.5 points per game along with 10 rebounds and 6.6 assists. Jalen Brunson has been an emerging star with almost 23 points per game.

Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, Reggie Bullock, and Maxi Kleber are averaging in double figures as well.

Doncic will present a matchup issue for the Warriors. Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green will likely be two of his primary defenders.

Throughout the last decade when facing a ball-dominant superstar like Luka is, the Warriors have been content with letting that player fill up the stat sheet as long as the other role players don’t heat up.

It will be crucial for the Mavericks if Doncic can keep his shot selection to quality looks and distribute to get other players involved when he has the chance.

Warriors vs. Mavericks Series Pick

My official NBA betting pick for this series is to take the Warriors -1.5 games which is +100 on Caesars. The Warriors have too much championship pedigree to lose this series to an up-and-coming Dallas squad. I don’t see many individual game blowouts, but I trust Curry, Thompson, and Green to make the right decisions in the fourth quarters and squeak out wins in close games. The Warriors are undefeated at home so far in the playoffs. If this continues, they’d only need to win one of Games 3, 4, or 6 in Dallas to cover the -1.5 spread.

Pick: Warriors -1.5 games | +100 at Caesars

Warriors vs. Mavericks Series Prediction

My prediction for this series is that the Warriors will close out the Mavericks in Dallas in Game 6. I expect the series to be 2-2 going back to San Francisco for Game 5, but the Warriors to win the next two and move on to the NBA Finals.

Pick: Warriors in 6 | +425 at Caesars
