Heat vs Celtics Game 6 Preview
The Celtics picked up a huge game 5 road win and now take their 3-2 series lead back home to Boston. The Heat at this point look like a shell of themselves. They are definitely a bit banged up, but they just can’t seem to sustain offense enough to keep up with Boston.
Miami had shades of this in the Sixers series, but their offensive ineptitude is magnified against a much better team in the Celtics.
Boston now finds themselves in a perfect spot to close out the series; with all the momentum and headed back to their home court. The lines certainly reflect the shift in the balance of this series. The Cs enter the game as a huge 8.5 favorite and are -398 on the moneyline.
The Heat offense looks completely lost. Even on their home court, they are unable to sustain efficiency long enough to make any meaningful runs. These deficiencies show themselves often in the 2nd half. With just 38 2nd half points in game 5, the Heat eventually got routed to a disappointing loss.
The Heat now find themselves in an elimination game on the road. A tough situation for any team, let alone one with 5 players on the injury report. I’m looking for Miami’s offensive struggles to continue, leading to a comfortable Celtics win. All of which will contribute to the under in game 6.
It’s no secret the Heat’s backs are against the wall. While I can’t say the Heat have always started strong, their woes show themselves later in the game, as we’re approaching crunch time. I expect the Heat, with their veteran leadership and experienced coaching, to have a solid game plan going into Game 6.
Now, can they execute that gameplan? In a road elimination game, while also shorthanded, is easier said than done. With that in mind, I’m liking the value we’re getting on Miami +5.5 in the 1st half. The Heat should have the firepower to keep pace in the 1st half, but I see them trailing off later in the game for the Celtics to pull away.
Jayson Tatum is playing out of his mind these playoffs. He’s truly doing it all for the Cs, and perimeter rebounding has been no exception. Tatum was 1 assist shy of a triple double in game 5. And with the Heat’s injuries, resulting in severe mismatches for Tatum, he’s poised to put up big numbers in game 6.
Bam Adebayo Under 16.5 Points | +111 at FoxBet
Bam has had a very inconsistent series he’s had a 31 and 18 point game but also a 9 and 6 point game. In a spot like this where he’ll be the focus of the Celtics defense, will be tough for him. And now, with the Celtics getting healthier every game, I’m looking for Bam to struggle offensively and love the value we’re getting here.
