Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns Betting Picks, Odds, & Predictions April 6th

Tonights NBA slate features two games nationally televised on ESPN. This is the last of the two, with the Los Angeles Clippers hosting the NBA leading Phoenix Suns.

This rematch of the 2021 Western Conference Finals is going to be a great game. The Suns are slight favorites here, currently favored by 2 points with the over/under sitting at 228.

Heaping praise on the Phoenix Suns is incredibly easy with how good they have been this season. They are going to be the only 60+ win team in the NBA, and they might even get to 65 wins.

The 65 win club is rarified air, and history looks fondly upon those teams that are able to get to that achievement in terms of likelihood of winning the championship.

While the Suns are incredible, the issue for this game tonight is that the Suns are on the second night of a back-to-back, and have clinched 1st place by a mile so they don’t have a ton to play for.

The Suns just mopped the floor with the Lakers last night, but that isn’t exactly saying much considering the circumstances. The Lakers are trash, and they checked out of the season months ago.

The “other” LA team, the Clippers, are still playing hard unlike the Lakers. Despite being firmly entrenched into exactly the 8 seed, they have little chance of moving up to 7 or moving down to 9, the Clippers are fighting to win games.

They have played 4 games since Paul George returned from an elbow injury, and have gone 3-1 in that stretch with all 4 games being against teams in the playoffs. Even that lone loss was understandable considering they played in Chicago and lost that game in overtime.

The 3 wins are against the Jazz, the Bucks (albeit without their top 3), and the red-hot Pelicans.

Looking at the odds here, the Suns only getting 2 points via the OddsJam Line tells me that the markets are taking into account the Suns being on a back-to-back with the risk of resting some players.
