The Warriors have taken the commanding 3-2 lead in the Finals, with Steph Curry now being the heavy favorite for the award.
Even after the tough outing in Game 5 where he was 0-9 from three with just 15 points, Curry is still averaging 30.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists on 41.7% shooting from three.
The Celtics finally adjusted their defense in Game 5 to be more aggressive and slow him down, but his “gravity” and motion are still everything the Warriors offense revolves around.
Jayson Tatum is still the favorite to win the award for Boston and has picked up his scoring as of late. He’s at 23.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7 assists for the series, but is averaging 3.6 turnovers per game.
He’s shooting 47.5% on his threes on almost 8 attempts and might need to take more to keep the Celtics alive in this series. The Warriors have elected to go small and become even more switch-heavy, while Andrew Wiggins continues to hound him on the ball.
It has taken away the rim and forced him into over-penetrating the defense at times. His patience and shot selection will be the key for Boston in Game 6.

Even with the low-scoring Game 5, I expect Curry to turn it back around in Game 6. He has still been undoubtedly the best player on the team favored to win the title and is the safe pick here at -320.
Andrew Wiggins has shot up the Finals MVP betting, and continues to be the best longshot or value pick.
His scoring and defense on Tatum have been invaluable to the Warriors. With a monstrous Game 5 with 26 points and 13 rebounds, he seems like the only one with the potential to steal the award from Curry.
