Chicago White Sox vs. Detroit Tigers
7:10 p.m. ET
Happy Monday to you all! Tonight we get to see the return of Lance Lynn for the White Sox. The White Sox have desperately needed pitching depth, so getting Lynn back is a big boost for this team.
Can Lynn return to his prime tonight and pitch a solid game against the Detroit Tigers?
He has always been a solid pitcher, but last year he earned a big payday in his first season with the White Sox because he had his career-low ERA with them.
Lynn aggravated his knee during spring training but should be back to full health now. Last year, he had a 2.69 ERA and pitched against this Tigers team three different times.
He pitched for a combined 17 innings against them and in each game, he gave up 4 hits and only 1 run. He dominated the Tigers last year — I expect him to come out confident tonight.
The Tigers will pitch Rony Garcia who is coming off a solid performance against the Yankees in which he only gave up2two runs.
Garcia has a 4.50 ERA on the season, but I do not expect the White Sox to have a ton of success off of him tonight. The White Sox do not hit right-handed pitchers anywhere close to how they hit lefties.
The Tigers also have one of the top bullpens in the league in case Garcia is not able to go long tonight.
Instead of choosing a side tonight, I am going with the under as I expect both of the pitchers to have success. The wind is also blowing in, so it should have some impact of the ball not flying as far.
I do not trust Tony La Russa with his decision-making, so I feel the first five innings under is safer than the full game!
