Opposing pitcher, Johnny Cueto, has allowed 5 home runs over his last 4 starts, including one to Byron Buxton.
Cueto cannot seem to get away from the long-balls and Buxton has the most pop on the Twins. Out of 54 hits this season, 23 have gone deep for Byron.
This means that 43% of his hits are home runs, which is insane. 15 of Byron’s 23 home runs have come at home this season and 16 of them have come against right handed pitching. He has 4 home runs over his last 15 games and this is elite value tonight. Batting at the top of the order and against a good opponent, Buxton has the opportunity to have upwards of 5 at-bats.
Only one of those need to be a homer. Buxton is on my radar tonight for a home run, 2+ hits, and 2+ bases. He has one of the most advantageous matchups tonight so I am willing to risk one unit of my bankroll to win multiple.
Being protected in the lineup by Correa and Kepler allows him to see better pitches and more strikes, as opposing pitchers cannot afford to walk him given his speed and the bats that follow. Let’s go Byron!
