The man, the myth, the legend known as Sandy Alcantara is having a career year, a Cy Young award worthy year. He’s been damn near unstoppable all season. 9-4 record with an impeccable 1.81 ERA and most importantly for us 133 strikeouts! He’s pitched at least 7 innings in 13 of the last 14 games! 

Sandy has gone over 5.5 strikeouts in 7 of his 10 starts at home. Over his last 5 home starts he is averaging 8 k’s. He’s hit double digit strikeouts in 3 of his last 4 starts overall. I could just go on and on. The man is a machine sent from the future. He has graced us all with his dominating presence. The Sandman cometh!

On the other side of the coin we have the Mets who are having an incredible season. They have all the tools to make a World Series run. However, beneath all that success is a team that LOVES to whiff on the road. They lead the whole league in away game strikeouts. Also recently they are trending in the wrong direction with the second most strikeouts in the month of July. 

So here we have a situation with an absolutely dominant pitcher in his home stadium on an upward trend in K’s against a team on an upward trend in K’s that struggles on the road with strikeouts.  That is music to my ears. These are the kind of situations I love to exploit. THIS right here is what gets that JP sense tingling!

Soooooo…with ALL that being said we are going to go ahead and hammer Sandy Alcantara over 5.5 strikeouts against the Mets. Don’t overthink it, just make it happen. Time to put the kiddos to bed and let’s cash this bad boy together! Bye for now!
