These rankings include 3rd in OBP (.325), 4th in runs per game (4.7), 4th in batting average (.254), 5th in hits per game (8.6), and 10th in OPS (.724). If you thought their offense was stellar, their pitching is just as great. The Mets pitching staff currently ranks 8th in ERA (3.74), 5th in WHIP (1.18), 3rd in K/9 (9.58) and they allow the 5th least hits per game (7.7).
Carlos Carrasco takes the mound tonight after allowing only three earned runs over his last 11.2 Innings Pitched. One of those three runs was a result of a wild pitch. NY has won six of their last ten, while Chicago is on a five game losing streak. Chicago pitcher Keegan Thompson has been good, but has a tough matchup as the Mets have the 2nd best batting average in the league against RHP. (.259).
This line seems a bit low for the Mets, so we have no choice but to attack one of the best teams in the league against one of the worst in the league. Let’s cash another “Best Bet”!
