Following a 99-day lockout this offseason that ended just as the season was about to get started, Major League Baseball (MLB) is well underway with the All-Star break now come and gone. The lockout-focused offseason didn’t, however, do anything to diminish salaries at the top, as MLB highest-paid players are still earning eye-popping figures.

Today, let’s take a closer look at the highest paid MLB left fielders (LFs), and see how they stack up.

Who are the Highest Paid MLB LFs in 2022?

Coming in at just under $27 million this season alone, Brewers slugger Christian Yelich tops our list as the MLB’s highest paid LF. Signing just as the pandemic was getting underway in March 2020, Yelich inked a seven-year deal worth $188.5 million in total.

Next up we head to Colorado, for former Cubs LF Kris Bryant who is also raking in high $20 million this season all the way through 2028. Signing just a few weeks after Yelich, this seven-year $182 million was certainly in direct response to Yelich’s market-setting signing.

Dropping to under $20 million now, Kyle Schwarber, also a former Cub, is next up earning $19.75 million, a deal the Phillies slugger just signed this March.

Houston’s Michael Brantley inked his $16 million deal in January of 2021, a two-year contract that gives him flexibility after this season.

Chris Taylor, of the Los Angeles Dodgers, signed his four-year $60 million deal in December to remain with the club until 2025.

This was just a month after the next MLB highest paid LF on our list Mark Canha inked a two-year deal in November worth $26.5 million.

Jorge Soler and AJ Pollock will both take home $12 million this season on their respective deals, as the stars both have about three years left on their current deal.

An MLB highest paid LF list wouldn’t be complete without another Dodger, as Joey Gallo will earn $10.275 million this season, and is the youngest player on this list at just 28 years old.

Rounding out our top 10 is Atlanta Braves LF Adam Duvall, who also happens to be the latest signee inking his deal on June 8th. It’s also worth noting that his deal is for just one year, with no signing bonus, and is currently being settled in arbitration
