MLB Highest-Paid Center Fielders – Salaries Ranking for 2022 Season

While it might be amongst the least popular sports in the United States from an attendance and television rating standpoint, that hasn’t stopped Major League Baseball (MLB) from turning out some of the highest annual salaries in all of the sports.

Now past the halfway point with the All-Star break come and gone, let’s take a closer look at the highest-paid MLB center fielders (CFs) in the 2022 season.

Who are the Highest Paid MLB CFs in 2022?

The third-highest paid player in MLB and top non-pitcher salary, superstar Mike Trout of the Angels tops our list earning over $37 million this season. Well worth the price tag, Trout is one of the best players MLB has ever seen, and the 12-year $426.5 million contract (all guaranteed) he signed in 2019 fits the bill.

We drop off around $8 million for the next player on our list, George Springer, who also happens to be the oldest player on our list at over 32 years old. The six-year $150 million contract Springer signed in early 2021 has him earning close to $30 million this season.

Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is next on our list earning $19 million this season, as the 2013 first-round pick has become the face of the Yankees as of late. Speaking of faces of franchises, the Dodgers’ Cody Bellinger is next on our list set to earn $17 million this season in LA.

We stay in the American League East for our next player in Rays CF Kevin Kiermaier who is slated to earn just over $12 million in the 2022 season. His $53.5 million contract extension, which he signed in 2017, is set to expire at the end of next season.

Aaron Hicks of the Yankees is set to earn nearly $11 million, while the Twins’ Byron Buxton will make just over $9 million this season.

Enrique Hernandez of the Red Sox will make 8 million this season after signing a two-year deal worth $14 million in 2021.

Brandon Nimmo of the Mets and Bryan Reynolds of the Pirates round out the list, both making around $7 million this season.
